Today, the 14th Amendment heavily affects people today in different ways. Just by looking at the past, it is easily apparent how much America has changed through the issue of people's rights. In the beginning, the white male was basically the only being out there with full rights. Now it doesn't matter: man or woman, ethnicity, race-people are all treated fairly under the law. Today, the fight somewhat lies in between straight/not folk. In my own life, I am affected by the Amendment in which I am fairly treated under the law as any other person of any ethnicity, race, etc.
